Founded in 1999 by Thierry Velu, a professional firefighter, the French Disaster Relief Group (Groupe de Secours Catastrophe Français, or GSCF) is an International Solidarity Organization (Organisation de Solidarité Internationale, or OSI) that primarily focuses on providing emergency relief during natural or human-made disasters. In addition to these rescue missions, the GSCF also participates in emergency humanitarian and development operations.
The GSCF draws its strength from a team that is primarily composed of firefighters, which has earned it the title « Humanitarian Firefighters of the GSCF. » Our dedicated and highly skilled members are always ready to intervene to save lives and provide support to distressed communities.
In the absence of the GSCF during natural or humanitarian disasters, many people would simply not be able to survive. No matter your level of contribution, you will make a difference and have the assurance that someone, somewhere in the world, is receiving the help they desperately need.
Together, we can have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.
